Pakistan is a relatively new founded country located in South Asia between India, Afghanistan, Iran, and China. It isn’t a landlocked country like its neighbor Afghanistan, thanks to its around 1000 km long coastline in the south.
The country gained independence in 1947 after separating from British India. The vast majority of Muslims that lived in India migrated to Pakistan during the separation of the two countries, and this has resulted in 96% of the Pakistanis being Muslim and only 1.2% being Hindu. Because of Islam by far being the major religion, some Hindus have stated that they are being treated as 2nd class citizens. More about this problem can be read on the page Political challenges.
